Workshops for Expat Partners

C3 Consulting frequently organizes cultural workshops aimed at accompanying partners of international assignees. 

Each workshop is designed on the basis of the participants’ specific experiences and interests, for instance: How much experience do the participants have with the culture of the relocation country? Have they just arrived, or are they soon about to return to their home country?

Often, the participants work with mapping the competencies they can gain from living abroad – and with how these new competencies can be used on a personal as well as professional level.  

A good exercise to make me aware of what my role is in China 

Here, two of the participants from an expat partner workshop conducted in Tianjin, China, tell what they gained from the workshop:

Hanne Fogh, Tianjin:

"Being an expat spouse, it is often the case that time just flies by. You become the service person and caretaker of the family, which is a very important job, but you often forget your professional identity, which can create a lot of frustrations.

At the C3 workshop we worked with our identity, our ambitions, our talents, our possibilities etc. and I think we all left with a desire to create personal goals in the shorter and longer term, and get started to pursue the goal."

Britta Møller Larsen, Tianjin:

"I think the meeting was very inspiring and rewarding. As an expat-wife, I easily forget myself and here I brought myself more into focus. In the different exercises I had to make myself the centre of attention and find the meaning in what I do on a daily basis here in China.

It is a good exercise in order to make me aware of what my role is in China, and how I can strengthen my resources and enhance my awareness of the experiences, I acquire here, which can optimize my qualifications, when I return to Denmark."
