From One Person To A Global Impact

The beautiful Fall is here - and with this also the usual transitioning of nature, mindset and for sure… the weather. You’ll also notice a transition in this and future newsletters. A shift in tone that blends the personal with the professional.

I’m finding myself becoming nostalgic since we’re moving close to a special anniversary. In January 2026, it’s 20 years ago I started up C3 as a one-person company!

Not long ago I was interviewed and talked about what led me to start up C3 and how it had a rocket-like start with huge Danish companies as clients within the first couple of years. The journalist’s response was: “Wow, that cool story is new to me. You can’t read that on your webpage!”

I realized that yes, it is actually cool when you think about the not-straight path C3 and I have been walking over these years

So, over the next few months I hope you’ll celebrate with me!  I’ll walk along the path of C3 with you and tell you (lively) stories of how the road looked like - and yes, for sure also give you some valuable pieces of advice along the way

Let’s lay the land and go close to 30 years back:

It’s the 12th of March 1997, and I’m biking down the hill to go shopping in Aarhus. I see a huge poster by the road stating: “Be Ready For China. Study Chinese.”

I stop the bike, turn around, and back home I edit my application for university, which is to be handed in the day after.

First choice now is: Study Chinese.
New second choice: Social Worker.

I can still hear my mom’s high-pitched voice yelling in the phone even today: “CHINESE!!!!! At UNIVERSITY… But why???!!!!!”

Because… I just had to. I knew it in my heart, and I fell in love with the language and culture even before beginning the studies.

Eight years later, my master’s degree (+ a husband and two children) was proudly in my hands.

But now what?

When friends and family had curiously asked during the years: “Soooo what will you do with all the Chinese shenanigans?” I answered with a clear voice: “I don’t know yet. I’ll follow my heart. I just know that I DON’T want to run my own company.”

Little did I know that I was brainwashing myself for years and years - and six months after graduating, I was self-employed.

It was January 2006.

My Point is:

Follow your heart.

Listen to your gut feeling.

And don’t underestimate the power of your thoughts

- because they might lead you to start your own company.
