Why You Should Warm up When Holding Meetings with Your Cross-cultural Teams

If you’re going to take part in a sports match, you’ll probably warm up before it starts.

But do you remember to warm up your brain when you need to hold an important meeting with your global colleagues?

It’s always a good idea to start by warming up your brain when you hold meetings.

And for meetings where the participants are from different cultural backgrounds and may be scattered all over the globe, this is especially important. This applies to when you meet face-to-face and when you hold virtual or perhaps hybrid meetings.

In the video below you can hear why a warm up is so important. You’ll also see a very simple method for how you can warm up the brains of the meeting participants.

If you give this method a go – or use other methods to warm up your brain – then I’d love to hear about it! Send me an email at ad@c3consulting.dk.

I look forward to hearing from you!

In the video, Annette Dahl refers to a study that highlights the positive effects of the so-called ‘activation phenomenon’.

In the study, surgeon Atul Gawande and a group of colleagues investigated how very concrete and simple actions could create better results in the operating rooms. You can read about the study in the article here and the book here.
